What Laptop is best for you?

When looking for a laptop you need to know what you are going to use it for. Are you going to use it for surfing the internet, playing games, sending emails, or maybe doing some work at home, or possibly setting up and managing your personal finances.

There are so many choices out there, you need to be prepared for what exactly you want your laptop to be capable of doing.

Any of the laptops out there can do the basics such as email, surfing the internet etc. but you want to know what software comes pre-loaded on the laptop.

I recently bought a laptop for my 77 year old father, who had been using an old desktop computer for playing games. He was getting a little frustrated because he had loaded quite a few games on it over the years and it was slowing down any time he would play his games. The games took longer to load. The actual games were slower than when he originally played them.

I explained that he had more games than the computer could handle. The computer memory wasn't big enough to handle all the new games he kept loading.

So my brother and I bought him a new laptop for Christmas. He was thrilled. We loaded all of his games on it and he was happy that everything was so fast at loading and when he played.

His new laptop is capable of doing far more than play games but really that's all he uses it for.

We tried to get him to email family and friends, many in his age group are now using email and surfing the internet, but after showing him how easy it is, he still just plays his games.

What I noticed when first setting it up for him was that the Vista Operating System had all kinds of software for trial. You get 60 days, I think it was to try the software, but if you want it installed on your computer you had to pay for it. Allot of the software like Microsoft Office is quite expensive.

I myselft don't like the new Vista Operating System. I much prefer Windows XP, which is why haven't bought a new laptop for myself. Every new system has Vista as the operating system.

Recently while surfing around on Ebay I found a new small laptop (12 inch screen) made in Hong Kong. It has everything I have been looking for, an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 , the processor is 1830 MHz, 2000 MB Ram, 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD+/-RW, Integrated Intel 802.11b/g Wireless, Integrated Realtek AL C883, Built in Loudhailer, Integrated Intel GMA X3100, but best of all it has Windows XP Professional, plus Microsoft Office 2003.

This laptop is made in China and the brand name is Hasee. I haven't got is yet as it has just been shipped, and I have now idea how long it takes to receive a package from China.

I am looking forward to getting it, as it cost me probably one third of what I would pay for any other brand name laptop with the same components.

Anyone who is going to purchase a laptop can go into any of the major box stores, BestBuy, Future Shop, Staples, to name a few, and talk to any sales person the computer department, explain what you want your laptop to be able to do for you and they will show you many brands that can handily live up to your expectations.
